PSL 10: Lahore Qalandars crush Karachi Kings to break losing streak

Lahore Qalandars delivered a dominant overall performance to beat Karachi Kings by 65 runs in a high-risk game that was part of PSL season 10 at the National Bank Stadium on Tuesday. This victory ended Qalandar’s five-match losing streak with the Kings.

After deciding to bat first, the Qalandars put up an impressive 200/6 in their 20-over innings. Fakhar Zaman as well as Daryl Mitchell were the stars when they batted with 75 and 76 runs respectively. The duo put together a solid partnership of 125 runs following the team had lost two of its early wickets.

Hasan Ali was the standout bowler for Karachi with four wickets in just 28 runs. This included the important demises Fakhar, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Naeem, and Sam Billings. Abbas Afridi chipped in with one wicket.

In response, Karachi Kings crumbled under pressure and were beaten to just 136 within 19.1 overs. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi was the captain of the Qalandars the bowling attack superbly and snuffed out star openers David Warner and James Vince for ducks within the first over.

Although there was a short partnership of just a few minutes between Shan Masood and Tim Seifert, the Kings lost wickets in a series of regular intervals. The Kings fell to 50/7, but they got the small comeback of Khushdil Shah as well as Hasan Ali, who added 48 runs on 8 wickets. Khushdil was the top scorer with 39 runs off 27 balls. Hasan hit 27 off just 25 balls.

Shaheen Afridi and Rishad Hossain both claimed three wickets, and Sikandar Raza took two. Haris Rauf and Asif Afridi took one wicket each.

In this round, Lahore Qalandars earned 2 points and are currently in second position on the PSL 10-point table. In the meantime, Karachi Kings find themselves in fourth place after their second game.

Another user wrote “Shaheen could be flying off to internationals, but he’s still flying with PSL!

While others, Karachi supporters mocked their team’s efforts, calling Karachi Kings official their “local Thanos trying to reverse it all.”

This defeat puts Karachi in a position of pressure moving forward PSL 10 particularly after two games that were disappointing.
