PCB reschedules two PSL X matches amid heatwave
Two Pakistan Super League (PSL) X matches have been rescheduled due to operational challenges and the impact of recent heat waves in certain parts of the country. Several adjustments have been made to ensure better logistics and player comfort for matches originally scheduled at Multan Cricket Stadium.
The first rescheduled match is Multan Sultans vs. Karachi Kings on May 1. The game was originally scheduled for Multan Cricket Stadium. The first ball will be bowled at 3 pm at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the match will now take place. Due to this, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host a double-header on May 1, which coincides with Labor Day. As per the original schedule, the second match of the day will be between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators at 8 p.m.

The PCB has also rescheduled the final match of the Multan leg in addition to the May 1 changes. Multan Sultans will now play Quetta Gladiators at 8 pm at Multan Cricket Stadium on May 11 instead of the afternoon game on May 10.
Taking into account operational challenges as well as ongoing heat wave conditions in some regions, the PCB made these changes after extensive discussions with all stakeholders. These adjustments were necessary to ensure smooth tournament execution, according to the board.
In terms of ticket arrangements, the PCB has provided clarification to fans who had already purchased tickets. Online purchases of tickets for the Multan match on May 1 will be automatically refunded to the accounts used to make the purchase. TCS outlets will issue physical refunds to those who purchased tickets from express centers. The PCB apologizes for any inconvenience these changes may have caused to fans.
A double-header in Lahore is now available for those who purchased tickets for the May 1 match. Furthermore, fans who hold tickets for May 10 can use them for May 11, when the match has been rescheduled.
The ongoing PSL X tournament has seen Islamabad United lead the points table with five wins from five matches, securing 10 points. In second place, the Lahore Qalandars have earned six points after winning three and losing three games from their six games. In terms of wins and losses, Karachi Kings are tied with Lahore Qalandars, but with a lower net run rate of -0.217. Multan Sultans are bottom of the table with just one win and five losses from six matches, securing only two points with Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators respectively.
The rescheduled matches are expected to provide a more comfortable experience for players and fans alike, making sure the tournament continues smoothly despite logistical and environmental challenges.
