PSL X Matches: Rawalpindi Traffic Plan

Once again, the Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL X) is heading to Rawalpindi with an exciting schedule of matches. The tournament will be held on April 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19, and May 7, 8, 10, and 13. It will bring together passionate fans, thrilling games, and, unfortunately, some traffic headaches.

Local authorities have implemented a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure the safety of the public and smooth traffic flow. During team movements to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and during match times, there will be road closures and diversions. Plan alternate routes if you plan on traveling on these dates.

Key Traffic Diversions – PSL X

  • Serena Chowk has been used to divert traffic off Club Road to Srinagar Highway.
  • Murree Road (Faizabad to Double Road) will be completely closed during team movements (5 PM departure, 11 PM return). Extended restrictions (11 AM–11 PM) on double-header days.
  • Pedestrians rerouted from Faizabad to the Expressway between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
  • To get to Saidpur Road from Rawalpindi, take the 6th Road Chowk.
  • Commuters from 9th Avenue: Redirected to IJP Road.
  • Between 9th Avenue Chowk and Double Road, Stadium Road is closed during match times.

Adjustments to the Metro Bus Service

During match times, three stations — Rehmanabad, Khatam-e-Nabuwat, and Faizabad — will temporarily close for security reasons. Routes should be planned according to the fans’ needs.

The best way to avoid delays is to use public transportation as congestion is expected to be heavy. In case driving is unavoidable, leave early and take alternate routes to avoid restricted zones. A real-time traffic update from local authorities can also help you adjust your plans as you go.

There will be plenty of cricket action during PSL X, but navigating Rawalpindi’s traffic will require patience and preparation. Maintaining a flexible attitude and following official guidelines will allow fans to enjoy matches without undue stress. Our city needs to keep moving smoothly.
